We have a vacancy for a PROGRAMME DIRECTOR for the part time Master Applied Sustainability Management.

About Us:
SRH Haarlem University of Applied Sciences is situated in the beautiful small city of Haarlem in the historical building de Koepel, with students from more than 60 countries plus international faculty and staff. We teach using didactic methods, practice-orientated and in small classes with coaching, teamwork, and guidance from the lecturers. We are currently enhancing our programme range by offering a part time MSc-programme in Applied Sustainability Management.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Programme Director to lead and enhance this new study programme. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the curriculum, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic programme, ensuring it aligns with institutional goals and meet the diverse
needs of our international student population. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational skills and a passion for education.

Key Responsibilities:
Programme Management:

• Coordinate the planning and implementation of the study programme with assistance from a team
  of lecturers and field experts;
• Source replacement lecturer if and when required
• Verify the timely delivery of module tutorials, literature, assignments and grades on each module;
• Teaching as required; (separate hourly fee)
• Support all lecturers involved with the delivery of the modules for the programme ensuring compliance of university protocols

Curriculum Development:

• Co-create and refine the curriculum and overall academic content of the study programme in close collaboration with the Chief Academic Officer.

Student Success:

• Apply standards of dignity, honesty, seriousness and human solidarity and  contribute by example to the democratic, moral, ethical, scientific and cultural expectations of the institution;
• Knowledge of the academic environment and structure;
• International multicultural mindset;

Faculty Collaboration:

• Work closely with faculty to facilitate innovation in teaching methods, assessment and delivery. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and academic growth.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and academic growth.
• Ensure any freelance lecturers are supplied with the syllabus and support for delivery of a course in a timely manner;

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Establish assessment procedures to evaluate programme effectiveness, student learning outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Support relationships and partnerships in the community, networking is essential

Accreditation and Compliance:

• Ensure that academic programmes adhere to accreditation standards and institutional policies.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Sustainability Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or Management Science with a focus on sustainability, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in higher education administration, programme development or related roles.
• Proven track record in curriculum design, programme management and student success initiatives.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Dutch is advantageous
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Lectured in Applied Sustainability Management

"We are seeking dedicated and experienced Lecturers in Applied Sustainability Management to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sustainable management specializing in Sustainable supply chain management & Logistics AND/OR Sustainable Energy, proven teaching experience, and the ability to engage with a diverse student body using innovative teaching methods.

Teaching period:

Sustainable supply chain management & Logistics:21-04-2025/23-05-2025

Energy: 26-05-2025/27-06-2025 

The courses run for 42 hours (5 weeks) over 3 days, with each day consisting of a half-day session

Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver courses in Master Applied Sustainability Management. - Employ a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and promote active learning. - Engage with students in a multicultural classroom environment. - Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives. - Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and community outreach activities.

Qualifications: - Ph.D. or Master (Ph.D is a plus) in Sustainability Management, Supply chain Management,  Business Administration, or Management Science with a focus on sustainability, or a closely related field. - Demonstrated experience in teaching at the university level. - Expertise in applied sustainability management practices and principles. - Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. - Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Commitment to innovative and engaging teaching practices.
